Heartfelt is a volunteer organisation of professional photographers from all over Australia who have come together to form an organisation dedicated to giving the gift of photographic memories to families that have experienced stillbirths, premature and ill infants and children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units of their local hospitals, as well as children with serious and terminal illnesses. Heartfelt is dedicated to providing this gift to families in a caring, compassionate and heartfelt manner. Kym Thomson came across this organisation of photographers giving back to the community by sharing their photographic skills with grieving families and decided that she wanted to be able to contribute too. It's a tough job but Kym loves that she is able to provide these valuable memories to more than 15 families each year.
On a trip to South Africa a number of years ago Kym's heart was touched by a generous gentleman who was providing a Christmas Present each year to a group of orphans who would not otherwise receive any presents at all. This gentleman had recently passed away and the local church was trying to pull together enough presents to be able to keep this Gentleman's dream alive for one more year. Upon her return to Sydney she decided to make a regular yearly contribution to ensure that this dream is kept alive into the future and 150 children now have big smile on their faces every Christmas.
